Senior White House advisor and first daughter Ivanka Trump is likely livid with her father for rescinding the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program.
“I think he’s genuinely uncomfortable and I’m sure he’s constantly hearing from his daughter, ‘Oh, Daddy, look at the little babies.,’” Mark Krikorian told The New York Times.
Attorney General Jeff Sessions announced Tuesday that DACA would be repealed.
Krikorian is “a Sessions ally” and executive director of the Center for Immigration Studies.
“The White House needed [Sessions] to do this because I don’t think Trump would have delivered a convincing performance,” Krikorian told The Times. “His own body language and ad-libbing would have undercut his message.”
“Ivanka wasn’t tweeting anything to show support for immigrants and other workers over the Labor Day weekend, as President Donald Trump contemplated having his administration end the Obama-era Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program, which gives protection to undocumented immigrants who were brought to the United States as children,” The Mercury News reported. “Instead of tweeting anything regarding her father’s latest controversial policy, Ivanka spent Labor Day morning liking photos of herself on fans’ Instagram accounts, according to Politico reporter Madeline Conway.”
Ivanka had supported undocumented immigrants prior to the start of her Dad’s presidential campaign.
