As the start of the NFL season draws near, debate over former 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick’s decision to kneel for the national anthem last year is once again heating up.
Despite the fact that Kaepernick hasn’t been signed onto a team (yet), there are many other players who claim they will continue his protest and refuse to stand for the anthem.
A comic strip has recently gone viral on Facebook pointing out the sheer hypocrisyof what Kaepernick and his ilk are doing — and it is something he undoubtedly won’t be happy to see.
The comic has two frames, the first of which shows Kaepernick talking to a reporter.
“To protest racial inequality, I refuse to stand for the national anthem,” Kaepernick stated in the comic.
In the next frame, the reporter is asking Kaepernick a question that makes his eyes bug out.
“So to protest income inequality, will you refuse to take your paycheck?” asked the reporter while Kaepernick’s eyes got wide and he looked shocked.
The image was posted on Sarah Palin’s Facebook page one day ago, and it has already racked up over 16 thousand shares.
While simple, this comic also has a way of absolutely destroying all those who have been grandstanding by kneeling. All these folks are are a bunch of glory hounds looking for their 15 minutes.
